Anne Torpe art
Torpe's style is figurative and displays a collage of colors and lines engaging with the subject(s) in the portrayed imagery. Her inspiration comes from everyday settings and scenarios, where ambiguous characters morph together with their surroundings in a cubistic milieu. Creating a modernist idiom, where her paintings become a reflection of the medium of painting itself, her work merges a plethora of parallel worlds into one canvas. There often appears quite literal and concrete divisions in her works, as a linear disruption of the motif by a change of color or another object.
