Luca Bjørnsten (1986, Copenhagen, Denmark) is a painter who holds a fine arts degree from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, The Netherlands. The complexity in his work is reduced, and his motifs often appear as minimal and colourful indications, as did they come out of a 16-bit computer game with soft pixels. The representations are however obviously recognisable, and include references to commercial brands and consumer culture. Bjørnsten had solo exhibitions and group shows around the world, and is represented by Bricks Gallery in Copenhagen.
