Peter Larsen (b. 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice embraces various modes of expression such as painting, drawing and ceramics as well as classic printing forms like etching, screen print and lithography. He graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. Larsen works within the field of figurative art. His approach is both intuitive and humorous and based on an interest in conveying the viewer and attempting to immerse them into a parallel mystical setting, where anything is possible. His artworks reference both surrealist imagery and a modernist exploration of playful subjects and help us understand how much archetypes, such as animals or geometrical shapes, weigh in our mental economy, in our emotional life and in our symbolic order. They show us the building blocks of mythology turned upside down and how the most important thing about a story is not necessarily whether or not it is true.
